Two Cases of Sarcoidosis with Lamda Sign of Gallium-67 Scan

Abstract

|
We report two cases of sarcoidosis which had distinctive distribution of 67Ga uptake in chest and lacrimal glands. Sarcoidosis was proved by chest computed tomography and histopathologic diagnosis. Considerable accumulation of 67Ga was noted in enlarged both hilar and paratracheal lymph nodes, resembling the Greek letter lambda (lambda sign) was observed in two patients. Symmetrical lacrimal and parotid gland uptake (panda sign) was not noted in two patients. Our cases show only both lacrimal gland uptake. We suggested that lambda sign of the 67Ga scan corresponded to the bilateral hilar, paratracheal lymph node enlargements and it represent distinctive patterns which were highly specific for sarcoidosis.
